I grew up in the ‘60s and ‘70s watching television. It was the perfect babysitter, always available and at no cost. My “television generation” woke up to our Saturday morning classics like: H.R. Pufnstuf, The Kroft Supershow, Josie and the Pussycats, and Sigmund and the Sea Monsters.
           
   
 
 

Our journey begins at the barge canal boat dock of the Office of Greenways and Trails under the bridge on U.S. 19. Heading west on the barge canal for five miles in the comfort of a pontoon boat, we come to the beautiful Withlacoochee Bay on the Gulf of Mexico and the start of the Great Florida
Birding Trail’s Oystercatcher Trail.

 
   

From the strumming of acoustic guitars to the giggle of children’s voices, the sound of Floral City Heritage Days 2005 will soon fill the air.
