When our homework was completed there were evening classics like: Little House on the Prairie, The Partridge Family, The Brady Bunch, Laverne and Shirley,Donny & Marie, The Love Boat, Fantasy Island, The Incredible Hulk, The Six Million Dollar Man, Bionic Woman, Hawaii Five-O, and Charlie’s Angels.

Reruns of the television shows of the 1960’s made
it possible to enjoy Hogan’s Heroes, Bewitched,
Gilliagan’s Island, I Dream of Jeanie, Bonanza,
The Man from U.N.C.L.E., Beverly Hillbillies,
The Mod Squad, Family Affair, Marcus
Welby, MD, and so many more.

Watching all of these shows was comforting
and dependable. My generation could always
count on them to be there for our enjoyment.
Most of the reruns would air in the after school ,
but before dinner, time frame. Collecting TV
memorabilia is like recapturing those same feelings.......it’s a return to a time when everything seemed safer, and we could take refuge from the world in our television set (Which was not always a color one).

The Beverly Hillbillies aired from Sept. 26, 1962 to Sept. 7, 1971 and produced board games, books, card games, coloring books, british annuals, dolls, comic books, lunch boxes, paper dolls, halloween costumes, records, view master reels, trading cards and puzzles.

Charlie’s Angels aired from Sept. 22, 1976 to Aug. 19, 1981. It produced most importantly ....
the Farrah poster! All boys had this poster in their rooms. It also produced board games, beauty sets, adventure vans, buttons, lunch boxes, british annuals, colorforms sets, cups, mugs, and tumblers, dolls and outfi ts, dreser sets, fan club kits, halloween costumes, hair dryers, jigsaw puzzles, jewelry sets, luggage sets, model kits, paperback books, notebooks, paint by number sets, paperdolls, posters, sheet music, records, purses, trading cards, and calendars.

The famous Osmond siblings - “Donny & Marie” aired Jan. 23, 1976 to Jan. 19, 1979 and produced address books, board games, books, coloring books, colorforms dress up sets, dolls(with purple socks for Donny), doll caes, diaries, buttons, halloween costumes, guitar, tray puzzles, Little Golden Books, Microphone and song sheets, Marie’s make up set, lunch boxes, Marie’s Styling Head, Portable Record Players, paperdolls, Poster Pen sets, Records, Posters, Record Carrying Cases, and so very much more....

So whether collecting TV memorabilia is a way to recapture your childhood or looking for the comfort one thing’s for certain, it is extremely contagious. If you are thinking of collecting or a beginner, proceed with caution. One item may very well turn into a room-fi lled with prized pocessions.
