When our homework was completed there were evening classics like:
Little House on the Prairie, The Partridge Family, The Brady Bunch,
Laverne and Shirley,Donny & Marie, The Love Boat, Fantasy Island,
The Incredible Hulk, The Six Million Dollar Man, Bionic Woman, Hawaii
Five-O, and Charlie’s Angels.
Reruns of the television shows of the 1960’s made
it possible
to enjoy Hogan’s
Heroes, Bewitched,
Gilliagan’s Island, I Dream of Jeanie, Bonanza,
The Man from U.N.C.L.E., Beverly Hillbillies,
The Mod Squad, Family
Affair, Marcus
Welby, MD, and so many more.
Watching all of these shows was comforting
and dependable. My generation
could always
count on them to be there for our enjoyment.
Most of the
reruns would air in the after school ,
but before dinner, time frame. Collecting TV
memorabilia is like recapturing
those same feelings.......it’s a return to a time when everything
seemed safer, and we could take refuge from the world in our television
set (Which was not always a color one).
The Beverly Hillbillies aired from Sept. 26, 1962

So whether collecting TV memorabilia is a way to recapture your childhood
or looking for the comfort one thing’s for certain, it is extremely
contagious. If you are thinking of collecting or a beginner, proceed
with caution. One item may very well turn into a room-fi lled with
prized pocessions.
